Jerking Your Reader’s (Targets) Eyeballs Right Out of Their Heads…

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by alexander on 21-02-2008

That sounds like a crazy headline but that is what you want to do when you are making friends on social networks and business networks. Making friends online can be a tedious and lonesome process when you go about it wrong. Many people have wasted a crazy amount of hours doing just that…bad networking.

“So how do you do it the correct way?” you’re asking me.

First step is to be different than the random spammers you see attempting to make friends online. You can make new friends and these sites really facilitate it.

The easiest and best way is to find friends of friends (look at your friend’s profile and who their friends are) or search groups & communities within the site that share your topic/hobby of interest.

Social networking and business networking can be done right and without a ridiculously over the top time commitment.

When you find that 2nd degree “friend” (friend of your friend) you want to send a friend request that says something like, “hey johnny, you are friends with my girl Jamie over here and we should be friends so we can also talk about ideas and interests sometime”.

That was intentionally generic. The basis of it is to get Johnny’s attention, tell him why you are contacting him, your point of commonality, and to build that likability (he likes Jaime, you like Jaime, Jaime likes you, so therefore you must be pretty ok).

Then you can start dialogue once he accepts your friend request and build that stronger connection.

One way you can really stand out is to post an image on his “wall”, his comment section or to your profile (which your friends are alerted to). If he has already accepted your friend request he’ll see your picture. If he hasn’t he may still see it when he looks at jaime’s profile.

This cool tool I found lets you create comic strips quickly and easily. No coding you don’t even have to bring the images. They have pre-made cartoon images you can use.

Check out this example:

TaggZilla - Biz Networking Explodes Your Profits

I made this my first time at the site and it took me 17 minutes. Putting a comic strip like this into your profile and allowing your friends to see it is a great way to get attention because people love comics, they can get the meaning almost instantly, and pictures really do say more than 1,000 words.

Make use of this easy cool tool today comic strip generator.
